About us
My grandfather, Mr. Ponnusamy, started this company in 1950 in the village of Nazareth, Tuticorin, Tamil Nadu, India.
At that time, we didn't have any sources for fresh apples in South India. He planned to provide quality apples to South Indians. So we started to bring apples from north India, like Himachal Pradesh and Jammu Kashmir.
During that time, we faced challenges in transporting goods. We brought products through the railroads.
My grandfather, Mr. Ponnusamy, had eight children. My father, Mr. Arputham, was the first son, and he took over this business and expanded it to 3 more districts initially: Tirunelveli, Kanyakumari, and Tuticorin.
I am Mr. Arulrajan. I am a BA Economics graduate. With the blessings of my parents, I took over the entire business and expanded it globally. We expanded the business globally, in the sense of importing a variety of fruits from various countries to Indian markets at affordable prices.
We started with importing apples from Australia (Queensland), which is the western part of Australia, to Tuticorin via seaport in 2001.
By that time, we had received a warm welcome from South Indian customers, which encouraged us to plan our business in a major city such as Chennai in India. So we shifted our business and focus to Chennai in 2002, in Asia's largest market, known as the Anna Fruit Market, Koyambedu.
In PAN India, we expanded our network to include Australia, United States Of America, China, South Africa, New Zealand, Chile, Turkey, Egypt, Poland, Italy, France, etc. Now we have suppliers in all continents.
Fruits that we import are: apples, citrus, grapes, plums, kiwis, longan, dragon fruits, etc.
Getting impressed with our business ethics, hard work, and the way we deal with our providers, few countries voluntarily invite us and introduce us to their farmers and suppliers in order to expand their businesses in the Indian market.
